This 2 night event is a grassroots celebration of LIVE music here in the San Francisco Bay Area. It's about turning off the TV, the ipod, the music you know and going out to see something new and different – the next big thing.
Live. Music. Now. San Francisco. is 15 songwriters from across the country coming together to share 2 amazing nights of live music with the Bay Area. San Francisco dominated the music scene from 1965-1975. We think it's time for round two. Join us at the Rockit Room November 30th and December 1st to celebrate and salvage all that this city has been, all that it is and all that it can be.

We are in the middle of a cultural crisis as the very thing that gave San Francisco its heart slips away. Musicians who live in the area struggle with increasingly high costs of living, forcing them to abandon or sell short their true talents, passions and gifts. Those musicians who are traveling through are faced with ever increasing challenges to find venues that can/will take a chance on someone without the backing of a huge label and/or PR machine. We as a community need to be reminded of and reintroduced to all the amazing and original talent that is here in our backyard as well as those knocking on the front door asking to come in.
Each night of Live. Music. Now. will feature 8 different songwriters (4 local writers and 4 traveling writers). The show is structured in 30 minute sets with 3 writers sharing the stage each round. As the night progresses, the artists will cycle in, cycle out, around and around and around and around. There will also be a fantastic group of musicians jumping in on guitar, keys, bass, drums, you name it. Both shows will surely be amazingly unique and spontaneous night of music not to be missed.
