Nini CampsIt's not everyday that a first generation Cuban American, finesses a glass slide along the strings of her acoustic guitar with her foot stomping in time to the swampiest groove this side of the Mississippi Delta, but that is exactly how Nini Camps takes the stage to play SLIDE, the lead off track from her sophomore release, SO LONG. Dont be mislead however, into thinking that bluesy slide work is the only thing this New York City based, independent, singer, songwriter, guitarist has to offer. Musically, she goes beyond the conventions of todays popular music fearlessly blurring the lines of pop, country, folk and rock to create a sound that is as diverse as it is powerful. While influenced by such powerful writers as Lucinda Williams, Bruce Springsteen and Patty Griffin, it is Ninis ability to effortlessly tap into her Cuban heritage and the likes of the late Celia Cruz, that her unique combination of old and new, Cuban and American is borne.

Charging into 2006 with a newly signed publishing deal with Cherry Lane Music, Nini kicked off the year by touring the East Coast, West Coast, Midwest and then headed to Germany as the US representative for the World Cup Music Festival. No stranger to a busy schedule, Nini has headlined the Houston Womens Festival, played for the Houston Comets at their Toyota Center Stadium, supported Los Lonely Boys in Texas and the Northeast, supported Ari Hest in the Midwest, showcased at the National Association for Campus Activities in Reno, NV and performed over 100 shows on her own in 2005. Her latest EP Drivin You Out has most recently been heard on the NBC series Tuesday Night Book Club and shows Nini at her best.

Lovepie the debut CD, and So Long the sophomore release, have landed tracks in independent films like Amys O, and television; most notably the WB hit Series Felicity, The Mary Kate and Ashley Show and MTVs Real World. In addition, the Olsens have licensed songs for their TV show soundtrack and 2004 Movie The Challenge.
